ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed bids in duplicate addressed to the Board of Commissioners, Jefferson County Drainage District No. 7, P.O. Box 3244, Port Arthur, Texas 77643 will be received at the Drainage District’s Administration Office at 4401 Ninth Avenue Port Arthur, Texas until 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 2, 2026, and then publicly opened and read for:
Diesel Engines and Reduction Gears for Memorial and Houston Pump Stations (Pump Stations #1 & #13) (Equipment purchase only) DD7 Contract #2026-006
Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier’s check made payable to Jefferson County Drainage District No. 7, Port Arthur, Texas, drawn on a Texas bank in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the highest amount bid if the highest amount bid is $250,000 or less. If the highest amount bid exceeds $250,000, the bid security shall be in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the highest amount bid by either (a) a certified or cashier’s check made payable to Jefferson County Drainage District No. 7, Port Arthur, Texas, drawn on a Texas bank or (b) a bid bond issued by a surety authorized to do business under the laws of the state of Texas. The bid security serves as a guaranty that if awarded the contract, the bidder will enter into a contract and execute bonds on the forms provided within ten (10) days after notice of award of contract. Checks of the unsuccessful bidders will be returned when the award is made; that of the successful bidder will be returned when the formal contract and bonds are approved.
The successful bidder must furnish performance and payment bonds on the form furnished from a surety company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as surety. Both the payment and performance bonds will be in the amounts of 100 percent of the total contract price and conform to the requirement of V.T.C.A., Government Code, Chapter 2253.

on file at the office of Jefferson County Drainage District No. 7 for review. Documents used for
bidding should be downloaded from the CivCastUSA website.
The Drainage District reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities in the
bidding. In case of ambiguity or lack of clearness in stating the price in any bid, the Drainage District reserves the right to consider the most advantageous construction thereof, or to reject the bid.
